Flower Garden

Class 5
I have never thrown on the wheel before. I have played with clay before in elementary school and painted on pots but this was my first serious experience with clay.
I made a house sculpture, two vases, a bowl and I also explored with hand building and coils. I made a small vase because I wanted to put a plant in it for my room. It ended up being the right size that I imagined. I made the house which reminds me of a shed for a garden. The coil vase was originally going to mimic the size of a bee hive, but I changed the idea last minute. The elephant and bowl represent what I made throughout the year when I wasn't thinking about the art show. I'm happy how the colors came together.
I threw both of the vases on the wheel and I used slabs for the house. The vases have splattered paint on them. I picked colors that I thought went well together and reminded me of flowers. The painting technique made it so the vases are multicolored.
